“I have been teaching first grade at PS 88 for three years. My mother is a teacher and she has inspired me to fulfill my dream of teacher as I have also had a desire to touch the lives of children, especially younger ones. Most of my child come from nothing. Straight from Africa, they have never been in school before and this is such a compelling oppurtunity for them to become something great with the educational oppurtunities they are given. Communication between teacher and parent is limited and difficult. A strong language barrior puts a severe blockage on important discussions and interactions between teacher and parent. Each day brings upon a new journey. ”
