“My students are 7th and 8th graders from a wide variety of backgrounds, but primarily Latino, Chinese and Yemeni. We work together through interdisciplinary methods to explore, learn and discover mathematics. In this age group, creativity and movement are really important to learning. Unfortunately, with such an emphasis on test preparation, little funding is left for innovative math adventures. I am grateful to your support to weave music, athletics, art, and science into my math class to promote my students success and inspire a thirst for knowledge.”
