“I teach two college level courses to dedicated and driven students in Harlem: AP Statistics and AP Microeconomics. These students work extremely hard to master the complex concepts in these rigorous courses. To supplement regular class time, we meet after school, on Saturdays and during school holidays. These students have all applied to college; virtually all will be first generation to attend an institution of higher learning. All my students are either African American or HIspanic; the vast majority are eligable for free lunch. Despite what are in many cases dire home circumstances, these students are ambitious. They understand the power of a solid education. They deserve the best resources.”

The answers to the multiple choice section of the Advanced Placement examinations that my students are scheduled to take will be submitted on scantron sheets. Any stray marks will deem the answer wrong. To avoid any misinterpretation of a student selection answer, and to provide my students with the best possible ability to perform well on this exam, I hope to provide each student with this high quality eraser on test day. For both of my AP classes, I have obtaine excellent videos which demonstrate real life applications of the statistical and economic concepts that we cover in class. These videos bring relevance to the classroom. Since our school has only one DVD player, which is in high demand and is unreliable, I hope to obtain my own equipment so that I may rely on the equipment when I wish to utilize the videos to supplement lessons.
