A document camera allows us to project images onto a screen without having to make overhead materials. The camera projects anything, from a page of the Oxford English Dictionary when we are discussing the number of words in the English Language, to a protractor in a lesson on how to measure angles. It also allows the students to share their work and their thinking, and creates a huge increase in motivation and interest in doing well, so that they can be the ones on the screen. Learn more »

These are good for drafting pads in Writers' Workshop. Children learn that writing is a multi-step process and draft their writing, after a prewriting process. The draft is valued more when there are special materials for the process. Learn more »
These help students with adding things to their writing. They revise and put a post it where they want to add literary language, or dialogue, etc. Learn more »
This is primarily for safety - when it rains, and the water gets into the doorway of the classroom, children slip. Children who slip and hurt themselves are a)hurt, and b) not ready to learn! Learn more »
Word problems are a great way to warm up in math, and traditionally, reading word problems is difficult for students. Who doesn't remember those trains leaving from stations at different times with some sense of dread? Doing word problems daily helps to take some of the fear out of word problems, and also works on comprehension during mathematics. Learn more »
These are invaluable for making class graphics to go up on the wall - making graphs of data, or creating charts demonstrating area and perimeter, other geometric concepts. Learn more »
