“I teach in a dynamic elementary school library where the students may select centers that interest them. For instance, after reading a book about math, there is a math center with measuring tools students can use. Another center is the farm center where there are toy farm animals for the students to examine and put in a small barn. The farm center lets the children read books about the farm and handle toy animals.
I also have a dollhouse, a writing center to create books, a science center and many other places to explore.
I need many "real" objects for the students to examine, such as geodes and fossils. I also need computer software for different levels of children. Additional funding would be so helpful. The students range in ages from 4 to 11. It is difficult to supply materials for so many different ages and interests.
I would appreciate any help you could give. Thank you very much for considering my library.

I want to encourage the Kindergarten and First Grade students that come to library to practice their writing skills in a play-like setting. I have story and sentence prompts to inspire the students to write and create stories. Learn more »

We use so many pencils in the library that I am constantly buying them with my own funds. I love the message this pencil says, "You Can if you Think You Can". I feel it would be inspiring to many young students. Learn more »
I love the idea of easy reading biographies. My second grade students who are having difficulty reading would love these books. Most of the time they only look at the pictures of the non-fiction books. They want to read but are unable to read successfully. These biograrphies of important American figures would be a great addition to my library. Learn more »
