As Founder and Executive Chairman of Room to Read, I ask you to imagine a world in which every child learns to read, a world where every child has acess to books, and can achieve their full potential. There are currently 770 million illiterate adults worldwide and over 100 million children without access to school. Room to Read partners with local communities throughout the developing world to provide quality educational opportunities by establishing libraries, creating local language children's literature, constructing schools, and providing education to girls. We seek to intervene early in the lives of children in the belief that education empowers people to improve socioeconomic conditions for their families, communities, countries and future generations. Since 2000, Room to Read has supported over three million children by providing better access to education. We believe that world change starts with educated children. To learn more about our efforts to change the world, please view our website at www.roomtoread.org. Warmest regards, John Wood
