This policy covers how ClassWish treats personal information that ClassWish collects and receives, including information related to your past use of ClassWish products and services. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available.
This policy does not apply to the practices of companies or organizations that ClassWish Inc. does not own or control or to people that ClassWish Inc. does not employ or manage. This policy does, however, apply to ImportantGifts Inc., ClassWish’s fiscal sponsor, and WellGood Classrooms, LLC, which performs certain services for the Website.
ClassWish does not currently participate in the Safe Harbor program developed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the European Union, but ClassWish may participate in such program in the future.
ClassWish may collect personal information when you register with ClassWish, when you make a donation, or when you visit Website pages or the pages of certain ClassWish partners or affiliates. ClassWish may combine information about you that we have with information we obtain from other nonprofit organizations, or from WellGood Classrooms, LLC, which administers certain aspects of the Website.
When you register with ClassWish we ask for certain personal information about you. Accordingly, once you register with ClassWish and log in to our services, you are not anonymous to us.
ClassWish may collect information about your charitable donations, favored schools or classrooms and favored donation items. This list of personal information that may be collected about you on the Website is by no means exhaustive.
ClassWish uses any collected personal information for the following general purposes: to help customize content you see, fulfill your requests for products and services, improve our services, contact you, or conduct research. ClassWish may also use this information, on an aggregated and anonymous reporting basis, for the benefit of other charitable organizations or governmental agencies, or our vendors.
Upon request, ClassWish will use reasonable efforts to allow users to update or correct personal information previously submitted to the extent such activities will not compromise privacy or security interests. Also, upon a user's request, ClassWish will use commercially reasonable efforts to functionally delete the user and his or her personal information from its database; however, it may be impossible to delete a user's entry without some residual information being retained by ClassWish because of the nature in which backups of data are maintained.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, ClassWish will respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims. We also believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of ClassWish's User Agreement, or as otherwise required by law.
We may also transfer information about you if ClassWish is merged with, acquired by, under the fiscal sponsorship of or otherwise becomes a part of another organization.
You hereby acknowledge that ClassWish is not responsible for any intercepted information sent via the Internet, and you hereby release us from any and all claims arising out of or related to the use of intercepted information in any unauthorized manner.
This website is not directed to children and ClassWish does not knowingly solicit information from any child under the age of 13. Should a child whom we know to be under 13 years of age send personal information to us, we will use that information only to respond directly to that child (or a parent or guardian) to inform him or her that we must have parental consent before receiving his or her personal information.
